A 15-year-old schoolgirl has undergone two brain operations as she “miraculously” holds on after being hit by a car in Greensborough.

A 15-year-old schoolgirl continues to fight for her life after being hit by a vehicle in Greensborough earlier this week.
The girl, named Eliza, was rushed to the Royal Children’s Hospital on Tuesday afternoon about 3.30pm after she was struck on Diamond Creek Road.
Friends say she has undergone two brain surgeries and has sustained extensive injuries.
“Eliza was hit by a car and swiftly transported to the Royal Children’s Hospital,” an online fundraiser said.
“The 15-year-old netball enthusiast sustained extensive injuries and the situation remains critical.
“Miraculously, she holds on.
“But with two brain surgeries behind her, the road ahead is long and riddled with uncertainty.”
Eliza is being supported by her mother Louise and brothers in hospital.
“We’re raising funds to alleviate one of the many pressures facing Eliza’s mum, Louise, at this time,” the fundraiser said.
“Because there’s only one thing Lou should be worried about right now, and that’s Eliza.”
Victoria Police said: “The driver of the vehicle has stopped at the scene and is assisting.
“The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined at this stage.”
The investigation is ongoing.
Schoolgirl fighting for life
A student is fighting for life after being hit by a vehicle in Greensborough on Tuesday afternoon.
The girl, believed to be high school aged, was rushed to the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Paramedics were called to Diamond Creek Road about 3.30pm.
Ambulance Victoria said the girl was in a critical condition.
Victoria Police said: “The driver of the vehicle has stopped at the scene and is assisting.
“The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined at this stage.”
The investigation is ongoing.
