Friends of a suspected homicide victim say he was a “sweet boy” who “wasn’t perfect”, as missing persons squad detectives continue to search for his body.
Mystery surrounds the suspicious disappearance of Jake Bradford, from Rosebud, who was reported missing by his mother on January 29.
Korumburra man Kayle Hansen, 25, has been charged with Mr Bradford’s alleged murder and has been remanded in custody.
But Mr Bradford’s body is yet to be found two months after he was last seen alive.
Police believe Mr Bradford was involved in an altercation in the Foster North area on or around January 24, about 150 km from his home.
Friends have shared tributes online to the 21-year-old, who last posted on his public Facebook and Instagram profiles on January 23.
“He wasn’t perfect,” friend Kristy Cordeux said online.
“(He) was a sweet boy who loved and cared for people and loved his mum.
“That there shows he was a good person, just a little mixed up. Just because you’re a little mixed up doesn’t mean you’re a bad person, it just means you’re human and make mistakes.”
Ms Cordeux added: “You were a good person with a good heart that people judged. I will miss you and think about the memories we had. Much love Jake. I know God has you in his arms right now.”
She shared photos of him miming to rap music, dancing and sitting on a push bike.
Another friend posted online saying Mr Bradford would be missed.
“Your (sic) my brother that I never had,” friend Keira Monaghan posted online.
“You were always there for me and you always had my back. You were in my life for a long time but not long enough.
“So many memories with you, fly high angel we are looking up to you.
“You’ll be missed Jake, but never forgotten.”
When Mr Hansen faced court, the prosecution requested more time to serve paperwork due to an “extensive” search for Mr Bradford’s body.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
