A $2.5 million indoor cannabis plantation has been busted by police in Melbourne’s southeast.
Officers say a public tip-off led them to seize the 1500 plants from a factory in Keppler Court, Seaford, on Tuesday morning.
The plants were growing on two levels under a sophisticated hydroponic set-up.
Mobile phones and laptops were seized at the scene.
No arrests have been made but police said the investigation was continuing.
Police said anyone with information could contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit the website www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
Acting Sgt Chris Fidler of Mornington divisional response unit said the matter was not over.
“When we uncover a crop house and no arrests are made on the day, full-scale investigations are launched with detectives working to track down those responsible,” he said.
“If you observe or hear any suspicious behaviour, such as covering or blacking out windows, strong plant smells and unusual or pedestrian movement, please call police.”
