Police have released images of nine men as their investigations into a wild CBD brawl involving up to 50 people after an A-League game continue.
Investigators from North-West Metro regional crime squad say the men in the images will be able to help with their inquiries into the Australia Day violence which followed a Melbourne Victory-Sydney FC match.
It unfolded as two groups from the opposing teams clashed on Flinders St, near the Batman Ave Bridge, at 10.30pm.
The groups had been making their way to Flinders St railway station at the time.
Police say five security marshals who were escorting one of the groups tried to break up the fracas, which extended towards Russell St.
Two of the marshalls, a 38-year-old man and 39-year-old man, who were both from New South Wales were treated for facial injuries at the scene.
Police believe about 50 people were involved in the fighting.
No arrests have been made.
Investigators have been working with the stadium operators and the clubs as part of their probe.
They have asked any victims, who in CCTV appear to have injuries, to come forward.
“This includes anyone involved who may be from New South Wales,” a Victoria Police statement said.
Detectives also want to hear from any witnesses or others who have CCTV or dashcam footage of the confrontation.
