A police officer was slashed with a box cutter in a tense standoff in Frankston.
The suspect was being questioned by two officers over a car with false numbers plates when he allegedly lashed out about 6.55pm on Friday.
It’s alleged he slashed one officer with a box cutter before taking off in the vehicle.
Police followed the car through Cranbourne before it returned to Frankston.
Officers used stop sticks to halt the car, with the suspect attempting to flee on foot.
He was arrested nearby.
Both officers were taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
