Police investigate after two men subjected to Nazi salute in Balaclava
Two people have been abused in a confrontation with a man who allegedly performed the Nazi salute and shouted offensive comments in Melbourne’s east.

Two people have been subjected to a Nazi salute and racial abuse in Balaclava.
The men were approached by a man at 8pm on December 13 on Carlisle St who allegedly shouted offensive comments and made the fascist gesture.
The man then continued walking east on Carlisle St towards Hotham St.
Police have released an image of a man they believe may be able to help the investigation.
He is described as caucasian, aged in his 20s and with short red hair.
The man was wearing a bright yellow and black windcheater with a red T-shirt underneath, fawn work shorts and fawn work boots.
“Victoria Police take any reports of racial, political or religiously motivated crimes seriously and are committed to doing everything we can to hold those responsible to account,” a force statement said.
