A big stockpile of vodka has been seized by police after they swooped on a prominent Melbourne nightclub.
Investigators confiscated many litres of the Russian rocket fuel when they carried out a warrant on the Love Machine venue in Prahran on Thursday night.
The Herald Sun has been told it will be analysed to check whether it was actually the spirit promoted as being sold or whether it was another product.
The warrant was executed by members of the police divisional licensing unit.
Victoria Police on Sunday said it could not go into detail but that the activity was part of an “ongoing investigation”.
“As this investigation remains ongoing, there is no further information to be made public at this time,” a statement said.
Love Machine, which is on Malvern Rd, has made plenty of headlines in recent years.
In 2019, security guard Aaron Osmani and patron Richard Arow were shot dead in a drive-by shooting.
The club was last year reportedly fined $10,000 for breaching a directive of chief health officer Brett Sutton.
Love Machine has been contacted for comment.
