A senior Mongols bikie has been banned from seeing his son amid fears he could use him to pass on messages to gang members.

Joseph Longordo, 47, who a court was told was the president of the Mongols Port Melbourne chapter, faces charges for breaching bail by associating with outlaw motorcycle gang members, including his son, James, with whom he lived.

Police swooped on Longordo as he left his lawyer’s office on Tuesday afternoon.

He faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday night where he was accused of breaching bail conditions.

The magistrate told Longordo he was “on thin ice” for communicating with three individuals, including James, 22, who police consider to be gang members.

Longordo was granted bail on the condition he only possesses one mobile phone and that he doesn’t communicate with the three individuals.

He will face Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on July 27.
