A school captain turned Paramour escort agency sex worker has been spared jail after trying to blackmail $100,000 from a client.

The County Court recently heard “Daisy”, 24, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was working for the agency, and for Gotham City Brothel in South Melbourne in 2021 when she first met her victim.

They had sex at his home and “Daisy” persuaded him to exchange phone numbers so they could be in contact directly.

Thirteen days later, the client organised for “Daisy” to come to his house to again provide sex.

But she secretly filmed their liaison and was able to find out his full name, his workplace and that of his wife.

Judge Frances Hogan told the court “Daisy” contacted the victim the following month and arranged to meet him at a railway station.

“You walked to the passenger side of his vehicle and stated that you had done some research on him and knew his real name and occupation and who his family were and the name of his supervisor in his professional occupation. You revealed that you knew where his wife worked, as well as other information about his professional work,” Judge Hogan said.

The victim was then shown “compromising” photos of himself and the sex worker naked.

Daisy said she wanted $100,000 within two weeks or she would send the images to his family, friends and business associates.

She made the additional threat that her boyfriend would “get him” if he did not come good.

“You claimed that your boyfriend was protecting you and stated that, if your victim did not pay in two weeks’ time and it took him two months, then the sum required would be $200,000, or, if it took him three months, the sum required would be $300,000,” Judge Hogan said.

“Your victim agreed to get $100,000 within two months. You told him that you had photos on a USB, your phone and your laptop.”

The client later made a recorded “pretext call” in which he said he needed more time to pay.

Daisy agreed to collect $10,000 on July 16 but, days before that, the client started an SMS exchange in which they were unable to agree on a time and place for the handover.

She then called the victim’s phone and, as police recorded, demanded the money and made more threats to expose his infidelity using the photos.

“Ultimately, it was agreed that you would meet your victim at a train station the following day in order for him to pay $10,000 cash to you,” Justice Hogan said.

There, “Daisy” was arrested and taken away to be charged with blackmail – which carries a maximum 15 year jail term – that she pleaded guilty to in the County Court.

A psychologist told the plea hearing that Daisy “made the poor decision to take revenge on your victim as a symbol of men” who had abused her in the past.

Daisy told the court she had hoped her blackmail scheme would provide her “enough financial stability to leave the sex industry”, but that to imagine it now brought her “a tremendous feeling of self-disgust”.

Daisy was convicted and ordered to serve a two-year community corrections order with 200 hours unpaid community work.
