A Melbourne chiropractor plans to fight charges he raped and sexually assaulted female clients.

Dr Ian Maxwell Deitch, 58, ex-director of Chirolife in Rosanna, faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday on nine charges of sexual assault including three counts of rape.

A previous charge of intentional sexual touching was withdrawn by the prosecution.

The court heard Dr Deitch will contest the remaining charges, which relate to three women.

Charge sheets state Dr Deitch sexually assaulted the women between 2013 and 2021.

The alleged sexual offending occurred during consolations in Rosanna, the court heard.

Dr Deitch’s lawyer applied to cross examine the complainants and a witness who was present when an allegation against Dr Deitch was made.

Dr Deitch is accused of digitally penetrating women and touching their vaginas without consent.

Charge sheets state the chiropractor also allegedly touched a woman’s breast and nipples, rubbed his clothed erect penis on her head and kissed her without consent.

In a podcast with The Buzz with Karyn Harte released in May this year Dr Deitch said he had recently finished practising as a chiropractor.

He said his practice would treat 500 – 600 clients at the height of its success.

“I’ve only really just put the tools down in the last year,” Dr Deitch said in the podcast.

On balancing his busy professional life and personal life, Dr Deitch said: “I’ve got a fabulous wife who let me get away with it and kids who I like to think still love me and understand.”

“I guess (it’s important to) have people to pull you up if you’re really mucking up and not paying attention to where you should be.”

Dr Deitch currently owns and operates Markwell Nutrition which sells magnesium supplement Colozone Plus.

The matter has adjourned for a contested committal proceeding on October 30.
