Chiropractor Dr Ian Maxwell Deitch fronts court on multiple rape charges

A Melbourne chiropractor considered a leader in his field has faced court charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault.

An esteemed Melbourne chiropractor stands accused of multiple rapes and sexual assaults.

Dr Ian Maxwell Deitch, 58, director of Chirolife in Rosanna, faced the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday on three counts of rape, one count of assault with intent to rape and six counts of sexual assault.

Charge sheets state the alleged offences occurred in Rosanna and included Dr Deitch digitally penetrating women and touching their vaginas without consent.

It’s also alleged Dr Deitch touched a woman’s breast and nipples, rubbed his clothed erect penis on her head and kissed her without consent.

Magistrate Belinda Wallington said the alleged sex assaults involved three female complainants over the course of almost a decade.

The charge sheets state the alleged offences occurred between July and August 2013, May 2018 and August 2021.

Dr Deitch, from Heidelberg Heights, appeared in court wearing a suit with his hands in his lap.

Ms Wallington granted him bail on the provision he does not contact prosecution witnesses ahead of his committal mention on August 18.

Dr Deitch, born in South Africa, is considered a leader in his field and has been a keynote speaker at various chiropractic seminars.

He completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Melbourne in 2012 when he became director at Chirolife.
