Man charged with murder after 48-year-old woman found dead in Hamilton home

A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman’s body in a western Victorian property.
Police found the body of a 48-year-old woman during a welfare check at a house on the Henty Hwy in Hamilton, about 300km west of Melbourne, about 7.30pm on Thursday.
A 48-year-old Hamilton man, who was arrested nearby a short time later, appeared before a magistrate on Saturday night, facing murder charges.
He was subsequently remanded in custody.
It is believed that the victim and the accused were known to each other.
The man will appear before Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on Friday 22 August.
