Police have arrested and charged Lex Pierce after six days of searching.
Officers were on the hunt for Mr Peirce, 40, who now faces more than 60 charges, after an incident in which he allegedly assaulted two police officers and threatened them at Langwarrin last week.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said detectives arrested a 40-year-old man, believed to be Mr Peirce, along with two of his associates, a 41-year-woman and a 47-year-old man, when police found them in an allegedly stole car with drugs in Mont Albert.
“He was detained at a hotel on Whitehorse Rd just after 5pm,” the spokeswoman said.
“The man is currently assisting police with inquiries.”
The arrest follows an incident in which Mr Peirce allegedly punched a female police officer in the face and threatened to kill the two police officers about 8.30am on June 8.
Mr Peirce faces charges over assaulting a police officer, handling stolen goods and drug possession.
He will appear at the Frankston Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
Police charged the 41-year-old woman with resisting police, drug and weapon possession, reckless conduct and theft of a motor vehicle.
She is set to face the Frankston Magistrates’ Court on November 22.
Mr Peirce’s social media pages include images of him visiting his elderly grandmother, Kath, the matriarch of the Peirce-Pettingill-Allen brood.
As well as Lex Sr, Mrs Pettingill is the mother of mass-killer Dennis Allen, jailed drug dealer Peter Allen and gangland murder victim Victor Peirce, who, with another brother, Trevor Pettingill, was acquitted of the Walsh St police murders of 1988.
