The father of fugitive crime family member Lex Peirce says no one knows where he is hiding.

Peirce — the grandson of crime matriarch Kath Pettingill — has not been seen since Tuesday when he and a female co-accused allegedly threatened to kill two police officers in Langwarrin.

Police are running a major operation to locate the 40-year-old, who is wanted for police assaults and making threats to kill.

Lex Peirce senior told the Herald Sun he doesn’t know where his son is.

“No one can verify where he is,” he said.

Lex Peirce Junior’s social media includes images of him visiting his elderly grandmother Kath, the matriarch of the Peirce-Pettingill-Allen brood.

In one photo, Peirce appears to hold a fake weapon to his grandmother’s head as she smokes a cigarette.

The pair were also captured on video saying: “Life’s a bitch and then you die”.

As well as Lex Senior, Pettingill is the mother of mass-killer Dennis Allen, jailed drug dealer Peter Allen and gangland murder victim Victor Peirce, who, with another brother Trevor Pettingill, was acquitted of the Walsh St police shootings of 1988.

Lex Junior makes his distaste for police and those who cooperate with them clear on his Facebook account.

“The only person that ever wanted me for who I am is Victoria Police,” he wrote in one post.

Two police officers were patrolling the Langwarrin area when they were allegedly set upon by Peirce and his 41-year-old co-accused on Tuesday.

A female officer was punched in the face and a can of police capsicum spray used on both officers.

Police allege Peirce attempted to grab one of the officer’s firearms and threatened to kill them.

He also called for his offsider to mow down the officers in a stolen car.

The female offender was arrested at the scene and charged with resisting police, theft of motor vehicle, possessing a dangerous article, drug possession and other charges.

Peirce fled the scene and remains at large.

A 41-year-old old Langwarrin woman was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, resist police, theft of motor vehicle, possess dangerous article, possess drug and other charges.

She was bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates’ Court on November 22.

Police are desperately appealing for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the assault to come forward.

Peirce is described as caucasian and about 185cm tall with a shaved head.

Investigators say he is known to frequent the Langwarrin, Dandenong, Hawthorn, Cranbourne, Sale, Lakes Entrance, Traralgon and Seymour areas.

They have released an image of Peirce.

Anyone who sees Peirce or has information about where he is can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
