THE FUGITIVE brother of Socceroos star Garang Kuol has been arrested, just weeks after taunting police while on the run.
Kuol Mawien Kuol was detained in West Footscray on Thursday in what police say was part of an investigation into fraud and drug matters.
The 25-year-old was arrested just after dawn at a house.
A warrant was issued for Kuol, a former bank worker, almost a year ago over allegations of a big fraud during his time working at a bank.
He is accused of stealing $121,000 from customers of a country Victoria branch of the National Australia Bank.
He last month allegedly hit social media to goad detectives who have been trying to catch him.
Tweets, later deleted, accused one of his pursuers of stealing money from him.
Kuol has allegedly been acting as the player manager for his brother during his time on the run.
Garang is one of the brightest young stars in the game and big things are predicted of him on the international stage.
