Investigators have raided Frankston police station and interviewed seven officers over allegations they falsely claimed to be non-binary in order to claim higher clothing allowances.
The search was executed on July 21 following probes into rorts of the clothing allowance system.
The Herald Sun in June revealed concerns police were ticking the non-binary box to exploit higher clothing allowances available to women.
It prompted the professional standards command to be brought in to examine the claims of rorting by some nominating as gender neutral.
Female officers are entitled to claim $1300 more in clothing allowances than male officers.
A Victoria Police spokesman confirmed seven officers were interviewed after accusations they claimed to be non-binary to gain the extra allowances.
“As inquiries are ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time,” the spokesman said.
Chief Commissioner Shane Patton announced a probe into claims the number of officers claiming to be non-binary had grown dramatically.
