The homicide squad is probing the death of a man whose body was found in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.

Detectives say a man’s body was found at a reserve on Brice Ave in Mooroolbark about 8.30am Thursday.

Forensic crews scoured the reserve on Thursday in search for any clues that may provide investigators with crucial evidence.

A crime scene was established on Thursday and the area remained cordoned off.

Officers are reportedly in the process of contacting the man’s family overseas.

“The circumstances surrounding the man’s death are yet to be established and a crime scene has been set up,” Victoria Police said in a statement.

“The deceased is yet to be formally identified but believed to be a man in his 30s.

“The investigation remains ongoing and police will await the results of a post mortem (on Friday).”
