Hells Angels bikie boss Luke Moloney has been arrested over allegations of a kidnapping and home invasion.

Echo taskforce detectives arrested three people on Tuesday, one of them the 42-year-old Moloney, over a series of incidents on June 1 in South Yarra.

Warrants were carried out by investigators in Reservoir and Brunswick West at 6am.

Moloney, of Reservoir, – who is on three sets of bail – was arrested, along with a 23-year-old Brunswick West man and a Reservoir man, 44.

They have been interviewed and are expected to be charged with kidnapping, blackmail, home invasion, car theft and assault.

It is expected they will face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

“The charges relate to an incident in South Yarra on 1 June where a male was threatened in relation to an alleged debt and subsequently assaulted and had property stolen from him,” a Victoria Police statement said.

Moloney was on three sets of bail before the latest arrest.

Victoria Police opposed bail on each occasion.

Moloney is a veteran member of the outlaw bikie gang who has risen to prominence as a leader in recent years.

He was granted bail in March this year and again in April after Echo taskforce detectives charged him with offences.

His charges include assault and causing serious injury over allegedly bashing a man with two other gang members.

The victim is alleged to have wanted to leave the outlaw club and was told to return his “colours’’ when the violence occurred at Moloney’s property.

Two other “patched’’ Hells Angels members, Kane Montebello and Julian Assafiri, were also charged by police over the alleged assault.

In April, Moloney was arrested along with a 44-year-old woman as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking linked to the gang.

Police executed warrants on two properties in Reservoir and Glenroy where an imitation gun was seized along with drugs, including steroids and cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia.

He was also charged with two counts of breaching his bail conditions.

But Moloney was bailed again to face Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on August 23 after he was charged with drug possession and committing an indictable offence while on bail.
