Heartless thieves have stolen a huge stockpile of children’s toys during a ram raid at a suburban Toyworld.
Police say an orange Ford Ranger ute reversed into the Sydney Rd store in Fawkner before two unknown offenders climbed inside about 5.25am on Tuesday.
CCTV footage shows the orange Ranger scoping the business out before ramming the large side window.
The storage shelf inside then falls down before three masked offenders, wearing all black, spring into action.
The offending trio were captured throwing several items into the tray of their vehicle, appearing to have only targeted items closest to the smashed window.
They were in and out of the store within about 90 seconds before police arrived minutes later.
The Toyworld store and huge amounts of stock inside sustained significant damage.
Huge storage shelves inside were tipped over causing much of the remaining stock to hit the floor.
Toyworld store manager Heather Rouhan said she hoped the offenders felt the full force of the law.
Ms Rouhan and several other employees were left to restock the store on Tuesday with hopes of opening on Thursday.
“They were only here for a minute or minute and a half, if that. They actually ran over to check the till to see if there way anything to grab,” she told the Herald Sun.
“They were just opportunistic. They got away with probably $1000 worth of stuff but caused a shitload more damage.
“I’m just devastated, I think of karma and hope something happens to them.
“I hope it gets them.”
Staff will attempt to restore the shop in time for Christmas.
Detectives from the Hume Crime Investigation Unit are probing the ram raid.
