Suspects have allegedly thrown guns out of a window during a dramatic police drug raid on a St Kilda house.
Detectives smashed their way into the Argyle St property on Monday as part of a methylamphetamine trafficking investigation.
The Prahran divisional response investigators allegedly saw people inside the house hurl a handgun and a sawn-off shotgun from a window as the raid began.
The weapons were quickly recovered.
Also seized were 28 grams of what is alleged to be methylamphetamine, heroin, 1,4 butanediol, ammunition, banned weapons including a taser and a sword, prescription drugs and $2800 cash.
The 42-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, both from St Kilda, were later charged with being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and drug offences.
The man will appear in Melbourne Magistrates Court on January 20 and the woman on January 16.
