A man has been charged with murder more than a week after being arrested in a dramatic police siege.
Homicide Squad detectives have charged Christopher Hillman, 43, over the brutal death of a 34-year-old man in Frankston on September 18.
He was arrested following a tense stand-off at a home on Sanro Ct, Cranbourne on September 24.
Hillman has been in hospital under police guard ever since and was on Monday charged with murder and remanded in a bedside court hearing.
Detective Superintendent Paul O’Halloran of crime command described the arrest operation as “dynamic and high-risk”.
“It involved the deployment of police from Crime Command, Southern Metro Region and specialist police resources to successfully resolve,” he said.
“This is a great result that police were able to apprehend him safely, and it’s very pleasing that no other people were hurt.”
Police are not looking for anyone else over the death.
