Essendon supplements scandal figure Shane Charter has been arrested by anti-bikie Echo taskforce detectives.
Charter was detained on Thursday morning in Fitzroy, just hours before he won a $3.4m property fight against alleged underworld money man Tom Karas.
A Victoria Police statement said the arrest was related to an “investigation into drug trafficking linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs”.
The arrest is believed to have been made at the Nicholson St home being fought over by Charter and Mr Karas for the past three years.
Karas and his family were living there until 2019 when Charter and his brother Craig changed the locks while he was at a funeral.
The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled in favour of the Charters.
Police said a 54-year-old Fitzroy man was being interviewed in relation to drug possession and failing to disclose personal identification code offences.
Detectives who visited Nicholson St allegedly seized controlled substances believed to be steroids and human growth hormone.
“These substances will now undergo forensic testing,” a police statement said.
“The investigation remains ongoing.”
