Shocking footage has captured the terrifying moment a young Werribee family dodged disaster after an out of control car ploughed into their SUV.
In the dramatic video, the couple are seen strapping their three-year-old daughter into her car seat just seconds before the crash.
Werribee mum Haylea Ball-Ferguson said she was getting ready to drive her partner Troy to work last Wednesday when the ordeal unfolded.
She had just strapped her young daughter in her car seat and was opening the door on the driver’s side of the car when she noticed an out of control car hurtling at speed in their direction.
She can be heard yelling “Troy, Troy, get out” as she notices the car, before dodging out of the driveway to avoid the impact of the collision.
Mr Corbett said the family was counting their lucky stars to be alive, saying “just seconds later or just seconds earlier it could have been different.”
“We’re just grateful that we’re all alive.”
The couple’s three-year-old daughter managed to escape unharmed, however both Ms Ball-Ferguson and Mr Corbett sustained minor injuries.
Police say the driver of the out of control vehicle, a 22-year-old Point Cook man, had suffered a medical episode and was taken to hospital.
His license is now in the process of being reviewed.
The family, who does not have car insurance, started a GoFundMe page to raise money.
