An altercation between three men sparked a daylight shooting in South Morang on Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to Nivea Terrace about 2.45pm after reports of the firearms incident.
Victoria Police said three men were involved in an altercation.
“A firearm was discharged into a car window,” Leading Senior Constable Adam West said.
“Two of the men got into a vehicle and drove off.
“The other man, believed to be in his 30s, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by ambulance crews.”
Police at the scene are paying attention to a gold Ford Falcon vehicle.
Two alleged assailants remain on the run.
No arrests have been made.
It is unknown how many shots were fired.
Detectives from the armed crime squad as well as local officers are investigating the case.
