Crime figure Jesse Marrogi resurfaces on social media after becoming target of $300k gangland hit

The daughter of slain gangland figure Nabil Maghnie has shared snaps of her glittering Italian holidays with her crime figure boyfriend, Jesse Marrogi, despite simmering conflict between their families.

Sabrine Maghnie, the daughter of slain gangland figure Nabil Maghnie, has posted images of herself and her Notorious Crime Family figure beau, Jesse Marrogi.

The images, showing the pair on Italy’s idyllic Amalfi Coast, indicate the couple are still together after a period of high turbulence for their families.

Marrogi went into hiding early last year after becoming the target of a $300k gangland hit.

It is unclear when the pictures were taken but they were posted five weeks after the deadly shooting ambush of Gavin Preston at Keilor.

Sabrine’s brother, Abbas Junior, who was with Preston when he died, was wounded and remains in hospital.

Preston was a close mate of her late father but is believed to have been on bad terms with the Marrogi family.

Jesse Marrogi was reportedly the subject of a $300,000 gangland hit last year, revealed at the time his big brother, George Marrogi — boss of the Notorious Crime Family (NCF) — was busted orchestrating a massive drug empire behind bars at Barwon Prison.

It was alleged an NCF gang member was contracted to kill two men for $150,000 in retaliation for a murder plot against Jesse.

Marrogi has kept a very low profile for the past 18 months but was seen at the Melbourne wedding of NCF identity Jimmey Barkho.

He has stayed off social media but recently changed his online handle to: “Karma ain’t real but I am”.

The man with a “F--- the Law” tattoo across his torso had previously been happy to post videos of himself cruising Melbourne in prestige cars and flaunting other spoils of a luxury life.

Jesse Marrogi was earlier this year charged in connection with an investigation into the money-laundering arm of his brother’s empire. He has not yet entered a plea.

Sabrine had posted from the Amalfi Coast in February this year with the notation, “taken by Mr Marrogi”.

The latest holiday images were posted a month after the murder of underworld wildman Gavin Preston at the Sweet Lulu’s Cafe in Keilor. Sabrine and Jesse were already overseas at the time of the deadly attack.

Sabrine Maghnie’s brother, Abbas Junior — a mate of Preston — was wounded in the ambush on Old Keilor Rd.

The situation is made more unusual by the fact that Nabil Maghnie, the triggerman father of Sabrine and Abbas Junior, was a close mate of Preston.

Nabil was shot dead at a house in Dalton Rd, Epping, in January, 2020.

He is believed to have been fired up about a road rage incident some time earlier in which Sabrine suffered a black eye.

Abbas also survived a gunshot wound in that incident, along with another man.

There have been persistent underworld suggestions that Preston, who was released from prison earlier this year, had been butting heads with the Notorious Crime Family gang founded by George Marrogi.

George is a powerful MEOC figure doing time for the murder of crime figure Kadir Ors in 2016 and for high-level international drug trafficking.

The Herald Sun was told last month that Jesse Marrogi had been assaulted by Preston some time before his death.
