A man was dragged from his Audi and thrown to the ground in a vicious carjacking in Melbourne’s north.
Police are investigating after an unknown man approached the victim who was sitting in his blue Audi Q7 wagon in a carpark on Grand Boulevard at Craigieburn about 9.45pm on Sunday.
The victim’s car engine was running when the attacker struck by opening the driver’s side door.
He was dragged out of the car and thrown to the ground by the thug, who then fled the scene in the Audi, police say.
The 39-year-old victim, from Craigieburn, attempted to open the door and stop the runaway car, but the offender managed to flee.
The car was last seen travelling through the carpark to Beddison Road before it fled down Aitken Boulevard.
The victim sustained minor injuries.
The stolen Audi and the alleged offender are yet to be located at this stage.
