Chilling devil detail in Greg Lynn’s bombshell police tape

High country killer Greg Lynn made a shock admission to detectives during his marathon arrest interview, making a creepy reference to the devil.

Devil reference in Greg Lynn police interview

High country killer Greg Lynn made a chilling reference to the devil in his bombshell police interview, as he detailed his version of how the missing campers died.

The recording was released late last week – days after he was found guilty of murdering Carol Clay.

During the interview, the former Jetstar pilot is asked to provide his email address and PIN for his mobile phone to detectives.

“Are you ready to copy?,” he calmly asked, waiting for the investigators to get a pen.

“PIN number for the phone is 666.

“All the … all the sixes.”

The number 666, also known as the “number of the beast”, is linked to the antichrist in The Bible’s Book of Revelations.

Detectives swiftly moved on, asking the convicted murderer what applications he used to plan his camping trips.

About 3.5 hours of Lynn’s interview with investigators at Sale Police Station following his arrest in November 2021 was played to his Supreme Court trial.

In the footage, Lynn details how he “rolled” the bodies of Russell Hill, 74, and Carol Clay, 73, into the trailer of his 4WD.

“Can you describe how you … who went in the into the trailer first … and how that occurred?”

“I can. Does it make any difference?,” Lynn replied.

“Mrs Clay went in first and he went in after.”

Lynn also described “collecting” bits of Mrs Clay’s skull with a bucket and spade before tossing some into the fire and some into the river.

He also outlined his career as a pilot, telling detectives he was “told to leave” the Air Force, before joining an airline in Tasmania and getting retrenched a year and a half later during the “recession that Paul Keating said we had to have”.

“I joined Ansett – (it) collapsed. Went to Qatar, that was fine, that was good, and then to Jetstar and we’ve got the pandemic,” he said.

“It’s a different world out there for that sort of industry, and you just get used to it and roll with it.”

The former airline pilot, 57, was last week convicted of killing Mrs Clay, who along with Mr Hill, vanished during a camping trip to the Wonnangatta Valley in March 2020.

The jury ultimately rejected his account that both campers were accidentally killed and found Lynn guilty of Mrs Clay’s murder.

He was cleared of killing Mr Hill.
