Reality TV star and Melbourne socialite Brynne Edelsten has had drug trafficking charges against her dropped.
The Herald Sun last year revealed the My Bedazzled Life star was facing a series of drug-related charges after police raided a friend’s Boronia home while she was visiting on May 11.
Edelsten — the ex-wife of late controversial businessman, Geoffrey Edelsten — was charged with trafficking, possessing, and using methamphetamine, known commonly as ice.
She was also charged with possessing a schedule 4 poison and property suspected as being the proceeds of crime.
At the time, she said she would defend the charges.
“I am shocked and saddened by these events and will be vigorously fighting all charges,” Edelsten said.
But in a win ahead of her expecting her first child this month, it can now be revealed Edelsten fronted Ringwood Magistrates’ Court in February, where four of the five charges were struck out.
The only charge proceeding before the court is using ice.
And Edelsten, 39, has applied to be dealt with by the magistrates’ court’s diversion program.
Under the program, she admits the offending, but if she is of good behaviour for a certain period then the charge will be wiped, giving her a clean criminal record.
The former fitness instructor from California will appear in court for a diversion hearing in August.
Edelsten shot to fame when she married Geoffrey Edelsten, who was 40 years her senior, in a lavish ceremony at Crown Casino in November 2009.
Wedding guests included actors Jason Alexander, Fran Drescher and Margot Robbie.
Despite their marriage ending in 2014, she has continued to grace red carpet events in Melbourne and has a strong fan-base on social media.
She even had her own TV series, My Bedazzled Life, and has featured on Dancing With The Stars, Celebrity Splash, and SAS Australia.
In December, Edelsten announced on social media she was expecting her first “miracle” child.
The baby, whose father remains a mystery, is due this month.
