The estranged mother of Australian pop star Vanessa Amorosi is refusing to vacate her Narre Warren home until her famous daughter pays her more than $850,000 following a bitter property dispute.

Joyleen Robinson said she risked living in the gutter after a judge made orders she must vacate the eight-hectare property she’s been living in for the past 20 years in just 60 days.

“It was my dream home in the beginning but now it’s a bit of a nightmare,” Ms Robinson told the Herald Sun.

Ms Amorosi last month won a years-long legal battle against her mother when Supreme Court Justice Steven Moore granted the Absolutely Everybody singer sole ownership of the semi-rural home in Melbourne’s southeast.

Justice Moore on Monday made further rulings, including that Ms Amorosi be granted full ownership of the Boundary Rd property after she took sole liability for a loan on her American home and discharged her mother and stepfather as guarantors.

The judge said Ms Robinson would then have two months to hand over possession of the property to her daughter.

Ms Amorosi was ordered to repay her mother more than $850,000 in restitution in the same period, which her lawyer said would happen after the sale of the property.

But Ms Robinson told the Herald Sun she had nowhere to go and would not leave until she received the cash.

“I’m not moving out until I get my money, I can’t move out with no money,” she said.

“What? I’m going to live in the gutter until she decides to pay me?

“I’ve got 12 months of stuff to get rid of … so it’s going to be a struggle.”

Ms Robinson said she had “no love for the house anymore”.

“At the moment there are a few major issues with the house that need to be fixed before I think anyone will buy it,” she said.

“We don’t have the money to fix it because we’re in court spending every cent.”

The home features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a study and a swimming pool with local real estate agents valuing the property at just over $2m.

Ms Amorosi sued her mother seeking full ownership or a court order that the Narre Warren home be sold.

But her mother countersued, claiming an agreement was made shortly before the property was purchased in which her daughter agreed to relinquish her half ownership if Ms Robinson paid the purchase price.

Ms Robinson claimed she fulfilled her end of the bargain when she paid her daughter $710,000 for a loan on her American home after selling her own property in 2014.

But Justice Moore found the agreement did not exist.

He granted sole ownership to Ms Amorosi but ordered her to repay her mother the purchase price of $650,000 plus $219,486 in interest.

Justice Moore said the interest would continue to grow until the sum was paid.

Meanwhile, Ms Robinson said she copped backlash from her daughter’s fans during the emotionally charged trial that took place last year.

“I’m not worried about it because I know I’ve done more than any other mother would have done for her kids, I would starve before I let my kids starve,” she said.

“Vanessa was my best friend, we were as close as any mother and daughter could be.

“I still love her, it hurts but I think it’s always going to hurt.”

Legal costs will be determined at another hearing next month.
