Axe-wielding burglar allegedly attacks owner of Langwarrin home
A man armed with an axe has allegedly assaulted a Langwarrin homeowner who confronted him as he tried to rob his house.

A man armed with an axe allegedly assaulted the owner of a home he attempted to burgle on Wednesday.
Police are investigating an alleged burglary at Satinwood Court in Langwarrin on July 20.
Investigators have been told a male resident confronted a male offender who was in his garage about 8.30am.
“The resident chased the offender to Applebury reserve where a confrontation occurred. The offender assaulted the victim with an edged weapon,” a police spokesman said.
The victim, aged 56, was taken to hospital with a laceration to his arm.
Ambulance Victoria said they treated the man for upper body injuries and took him to Frankston Hospital in a stable condition.
A 35-year-old man is helping Frankston Crime Investigation Unit with their inquiries.
The investigation is ongoing.
