Police have identified four men who allegedly assaulted a fan at the AFL’s Anzac Day clash.
The development comes after police released an image and footage of four men, seen in the background of play sitting in their front row seats at the MCG.
A 29-year old Ferntree Gully man and a 31-year old Boronia man went to a police station shortly after.
They were interviewed and released pending further investigation.
A police spokeswoman said they have identified two further men, who they expect to interview at a later date.
The alleged assault followed a verbal dispute between four fans and a Cheltenham man, 27, while watching the match, about 6pm.
The Cheltenham man walked away from the group to watch the game from the concourse, but the men reportedly found him at the end of the match.
Investigators allege the men approached the victim and assaulted him before one man pushed him to the ground.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
A police spokeswoman said the group fled when security intervened.
