A property owned by accused triple murderer Erin Patterson has hit the market.

The Mount Waverley townhouse is expected to sell for about $960,000 to $1,050,000 when it goes to auction this Saturday.

Described as a “wonderfully positioned” property, the two-storey brick home features three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

“This easy-care townhouse is equally suited to those starting out or downsizing as it is for families and investors,” a property description read.

“Quietly tucked at the rear of only two, the residence takes great care in providing a comfortable lifestyle with the lounge room enriched with large windows, while the dining zone is accompanied by a well-equipped kitchen complete with a Bosch dishwasher.

“Creating an invitation for summer BBQs, sliding doors open from the dining zone out onto an alfresco deck, while the rear of the home presents children and pets with space to play or set up a trampoline.

“Extra benefits include a laundry, ducted heating, split system air conditioning, under stair storage, high ceilings plus a remote-control double garage with backyard roller door.”

It’s understood Ms Patterson bought the home for $931,000 in 2019 and used it as an investment property while she was living in Leongatha.

When contacted by the Herald Sun, Ray White real estate agent Darryl Wickham declined to comment.

It comes as the mother of two was charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder after cooking a beef wellington dish for her former in-laws on July 29.

Don and Gail Patterson and Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson died while Heather’s husband Ian Wilkinson was the sole survivor of the lunch.

Ms Patterson is expected to face significant legal bills in what shapes as long and complex legal proceedings.

The house went on sale before her November 2 arrest by homicide squad detectives.

It’s not known whether Victoria Police intends to attempt to clamp the property or proceeds of any sale.

The force’s criminal proceeds squad, the Office of Public Prosecutions and the Department of Justice’s assets confiscations operations have increasingly moved to freeze the assets of accused criminals in recent years.

That is so any proceeds of sale can be distributed to victims if a conviction is achieved.

Control is relinquished if there is a not guilty finding.

The Sunday Herald Sun revealed in August that the $1m Caroline Springs home of alleged High Country killer Greg Lynn had been restrained.

Mr Lynn is accused of murdering campers Russell Hill, 75, and Carol Clay, 73, in the Wonnangatta area of East Gippsland in 2020.

His lawyer Dermot Dann KC said in June that Mr Lynn was facing issues funding his legal defence.
