A Doncaster East man has allegedly pocketed more than $25,000 from unsuspecting customers by posing as a tradie and collecting payments for jobs he never completed.
Detectives from the Manningham Crime Investigation Unit arrested the 31-year-old man on Thursday, charging him with two counts of theft and nine deceptions.
Footage released by Victoria Police shows the man, dressed in navy shorts, a navy T-shirt and black runners, being escorted from his Doncaster East home into the back of a police car.
It is alleged he posed as a tradie under a fake name, accepted jobs from clients via various job tasking platforms and pocketed up to $25,000 for jobs he never completed.
The offences reportedly occurred in July.
He has been remanded to appear at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on January 30.
