7 News: All-in bikie brawl at Canberra strip club

A shackled bikie has erupted in court attacking his co-accused and sparking wild scenes while being sentenced.

Handcuffs did little to stop Comanchero Adrian Robertson after County Court judge Gavan Meredith jailed him for more than five years today.

It took three prison guards to restrain the bikie and drag him from court kicking and screaming after he launched himself at co-accused John Mitropoulos.

“You f---ing dog rat, you f---ing rat,” he repeatedly screamed.

Robertson had sat quietly in the dock glaring at Mitropoulos during the sentencing hearing.

They were flanked by four prison guards with two sat between them.

It was only after Judge Meredith handed down his final sentence, a jail term of five years and seven months, that Robertson exploded.

It was the third courthouse confrontation for the pair this week.

Authorities were on high alert following the first violent incident between them earlier this week.

The Herald Sun has been told the men came to blows during a pre-sentencing hearing.

It is understood there was another before court this morning while the men were being held in court cells awaiting their sentencing hearing.

Five prison guards, three protective service officers and a court security guard were brought in for the hearing.

But the heavy security presence did nothing to deter Robertson.

The hearing was slightly delayed but continued after he was dragged from court with the sentence handed down for Mitropoulos, and another co-accused Jay St Mart.

The trio were sentenced for a range of drug, weapons and violence offences stemming from a December 2017 drive-by shooting in Endeavour Hills.

There was no link between the victim, who was uninjured, and the men.

Mitropoulos was jailed for three years and five months with a two year minimum, while St Mart was jailed for 352 days, which has already been served, and ordered to complete a Community Corrections Order.

Robertson must complete at least four years and three months of his sentence before being eligible for parole.

The reason behind his attacks on Mitropoulos is not known.

But it is not the first time Robertson has been involved in a public brawl.

In July last year footage surfaced of a shocking all-in bikie brawl at a Canberra strip club involving Robertson and dozens of his fellow Comanchero.

In a phone call intercepted by police following his arrest, Robertson declared his loyalty to the outlaw motorcycle gang after his partner begged him to turn his back on his bikie life.

“Nothing you say will change my mind. You are asking me something I can’t do. I will be a Como til the day I die,” he said.
