Microsoft is preparing to show off some of the groundbreaking new games it hopes will help it win this generation of the console wars against the rival PlayStation.
And according to Xbox marketing lead Aaron Greenberg, fans shouldn’t expect to see anything but.
“It’s just games, it’s an hour show. I know everyone is excited … seen some wild expectations so if helpful this will have one focus – games.”
Mr Greenberg promised there would be “no business, devices or similar news; just games. A whole show about an hour long focused on games. Hope you enjoy it!” Mr Greenberg wrote on Twitter.

It’s possible Mr Greenberg was trying to avoid a similar (albeit mild) backlash from some fans following an event earlier this year, which provided a lot of details about what kind of technology will power the new console, but no details about what you can play on it.
It also didn’t reveal how much the console would cost, but that’s unlikely to be revealed this time either.
Gameplay from the next addition in the console’s most iconic franchise, Halo: Infinite, is expected to be shown during the event.

The upcoming sequel to 2017’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is also predicted to show off some gameplay from the already announced Senua’s Sage: Hellblade 2, which unlike the previous game will be exclusive to Xbox and Windows.
As PlayStation did at its own recent games showcase, it’s likely Xbox will want to show games that have been specifically developed or optimised to perform well on its upcoming console.

It’s possible we’ll see more detail about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Publisher Ubisoft fought to take down leaked gameplay of the new addition to the franchise earlier this month.
A long-awaited addition the Fable franchise could also be revealed.
The Xbox One didn’t get a real sequel after the studio developing it at the time was closed down, but rumours have been swirling for years, and Xbox head Phil Spencer hinted at a game being in the works at E3 in 2018.
At E3 last year, Microsoft showcased Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator among other games, none of which have been released but could make an appearance during Friday morning’s show.
You can watch a livestream of the showcase beginning at 2am on Friday morning (AEST) at the Xbox website or on your Xbox console.
The event will also be livestreamed on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Twitch.
