Australian vice-captain Rachael Haynes says her side hasn’t discussed its most recent World Cup flops ahead of its semi-final against the West Indies on Friday morning.

Australia was knocked out of the one-day World Cup semi finals last year and was defeated by the West Indies in the 2016 World T20 final.

“That’s all in the past now,” Haynes said.

“If we were sitting back and thinking about that, I’d be a bit worried about our head space.

“We’ve been really positive all throughout this tournament. I think it’s been really clear on how we want to play, how we want to execute.

“The other day it probably didn’t quite come off as well as we would have liked but I think our team’s in a really positive frame of mind, which is where you want to be heading into a semi-final.”

Opener Alyssa Healy, who was concussed in Australia’s final pool game against India, was expected to continue her push to play during training overnight.

She was on track to play, but needed to pass a final concussion test before she was given the all-clear.

Haynes said her side was prepared for a raucous home crowd at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua, with the man himself imploring fans to fill the stands.

“We’re expecting a pretty loud crowd, we got a taste of that against India the other day and so we’re well and truly prepared,” she said.

“It’s going to be a really exciting atmosphere, we know who they’re going to be barracking for but by the same token, I think it’ll create a wonderful experience for everyone who’s there.”
