QUINNY’S BEST: SURE THING NOT OVER THE LINE
ROYAL RANDWICK
MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph). Form: 84233
QUACKERJACK (Race 7, No. 5 — $3.10)
This horse is proved at the Randwick mile and is racing in top form. He, unlike other main rivals, will make his own luck up on the speed and should be hard to get past in the straight.
Value bet: STAR REFLECTION (Race 1, No. 1 — $18)
LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS
FLEMINGTON
SIMON MOY (NewsRacing). Form: 252x2
BAM’S ON FIRE (Race 2, No. 3 — $2.25)
Did plenty right last preparation and motored home after getting too far back at Ballarat.
Looks a good thing.
Value bet: POUR VOUS (Race 7, No. 7 — $5.50)
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 12232
BAM’S ON FIRE (Race 2, No. 3 — $2.25)
Resumed from a spell with an eye catching third at Ballarat when a warm favourite and should take benefit from that run. Has a good record over the trip and at Flemington and looks the winner.
Value bet: POUR VOUS (Race 7, No. 7 — $5.50)
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (NewsRacing). Form: 51218
KING OF HASTINGS (Race 8, No. 6 — $3.60)
Raced against stronger opposition during the spring than what he faces here. He also pulled up lame at Ballarat last start.
Value bet: TYCOON BELLA (Race 4, No. 3 — $4.80)
GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun)
HALVORSEN (Race 5, No. 7 — $2.70)
Couldn’t have been more impressive first-up down the straight and can be storming over the top of them again
Value bet: SOMALS (Race 4, No. 5 — $4.40)
GILBERT GARDINER (Herald Sun)
ROLLS (Race 4, No. 4 — $6)
Grand Scholar form jumps off the page. Will be winning this race with something hand, just needs even luck.
Value bet: GENNADY (Race 5, No. 9 —$13)
LATEST BETTING: TAB FIXED ODDS
EAGLE FARM
NATHAN EXELBY (Courier-Mail). Form: 20313
BOOMTOWN LASS (Race 9, No. 9 — $3.40)
Became one of the very few horses to win off an outside gate at the Doomben 1110m when she sped across to a nice trailing spot early and then showed good ticker to fight off the challenge of Bring It Home Pop. Draws the inside this time and though she is taking on stronger opposition, she is well up to it, having claimed scalps like Tambo’s Mate last season.
Value bet: REMOVAL (Race 8, No. 14 — $19)
