FLEMINGTON RACE 6
Sure Knee was beaten as $1.70 favourite at The Valley last start but heads the early market at $3.30 to bounce back as she returns to Flemington where she has an outstanding record of two wins and two placings from five attempts, including a strong win on Melbourne Cup Day.
The early money has come for the second elect Talenti.
The former Kiwi has won both his Australian starts and could still have a racing future in Hong Kong.
The most impressive aspect about his wins is the fact that he never really looked suited at The Valley and he should relish the Flemington track conditions.
Punters were keen to snap up the early odds with Talenti — $4.60 into $3.60 — and I anticipate he will start favourite and is the one to beat.
SUGGESTED BET: TALENTI THE WIN
RANDWICK RACE 7
Punters did not hesitate in backing Quackerjack as soon as markets opened on the Villiers Stakes with the favourite already firming from $4.60 into $3 despite the wide draw.
Quackerjack resumed from a spell with an eye-catching third behind the classy Greyworm before winning the Goulburn Cup.
Quackerjack comes into the race after running a luckless second in the inaugural Gong when posted wide throughout, he looks well graded here and the current price still holds appeal.
The biggest single bet on Quackerjack so far is $2000 at $3.70.
I am opposing the second elect El Dorado Dreaming who again looks under the odds on the second line of betting.
El Dorado Dreaming has won just one race in her 15-start career and that is when she was a despised long shot.
She can again feature in the minor money and is worth including in wider multiples.
The runner at longer odds that I anticipate will feature is lightweight hope Bobbing, who opened an $11 chance.
If you are chasing a bolter I believe the rank outsider of the field Le Juge could run a cheeky race.
He has had a long campaign but is racing better than his form suggests.
One punter has parted with $1000 on Live And Free at $9.50.
SUGGESTED BET: QUACKERJACK THE WIN
ALEXANDRA PARK RACE 7
Winterfell is a prohibitive favourite to win the Trotters Inter Dominion final on what could be a monster night for powerhouse duo Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen.
Winterfell was a $17 chance before the heats and was posted $1.60 following the barrier draw for the final, subsequently easing to $1.70.
Majestic Man has been backed from $6.50 into $5 since the barrier draw and is now the outright second elect.
Aussie Big Jack Hammer was $71 before the barrier draw but has firmed into $31 following coming up with the prized gate 1.
He could sit behind the leader which gives him a chance to run into the money, but the concern is that his form has progressively got worse throughout the series, not better.
SUGGESTED BET: QUINELLA WINTERFELL AND MAJESTIC MAN
ALEXANDRA PARK RACE 8
Everything points to the Purdon and Rasmussen combination landing the winner in the Pacers final as they are represented with five of the 12 finalists.
Ultimate Sniper now dominates the market at $1.40 after a breathtaking series which has seen him win all three heats in dominant style.
The stable has five of the first six favourites including Ultimate Sniper ($1.40), Cruz Bromac ($7), Thefixer ($11), Chase Auckland ($14) and Ashley Locaz ($17).
Since the barrier draw there has been money for bolter On The Cards who has been backed from $151 into $101 and $21 into $10 to run a placing.
Ultimate Sniper is a very short quote at $1.40, but it is very hard to tip against him and he should win.
SUGGESTED BET: ULTIMATE SNIPER WIN
