Last week … four winners. It was a case of short (price) but sweet (success) for Shayne O’Cass (Haut Brion Her, $1.65) and Nick Quinn (My Pendant, $1.80), while Lincoln Moore was spot on with Arty Lucas ($2.60). Courier-Mail racing editor Nathan Exelby delivered with his value bet Galtero ($3.10).

THE EARLY OIL: WHO STANDS OUT AT CAULFIELD
SATURDAY
EAGLE FARM (9 races, start 11.33am), KENSINGTON (9 races, 12pm), CAULFIELD (9 races, 12.15pm), MORPHETTVILLE (8 races, 1.01pm), BELMONT (9 races, 1.48pm).
CAULFIELD
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun). Form: x331x
BEGOOD TOYA MOTHER (Race 7, No. 9 — $2.50)
Begood Toya Mother pulled together an unbeaten five-run campaign through the autumn and winter. Expect the status quo to be maintained here.
Value bet:CAUSEWAY GIRL(Race 9, No. 10 — $6.50)
GLENN McFARLANE (Herald Sun). Form: 33162
BEGOOD TOYA MOTHER (Race 7, No. 9 — $)
Nice horse who faces toughest test but nothing in his five successive wins suggest he isn’t up to this.
Value bet: CRACK THE CODE (Race 9, No. 3 — $7)
SIMON MOY (NewsRacing). Form: 83512
AGE OF CHIVALRY (Race 4, No. 6 — $2.30)
Unlucky at Moonee Valley when held up around the turn before making ground for a close fifth. With right run looks hard to
Value bet: MISS IANO (Race 9, No. 6 — $5.50)
CHRIS VERNUCCIO (NewsRacing). Form: x0962
AGE OF CHIVALRY (Race 4, No. 6 — $2.30)
Finished just one length off the winner in his first-up run despite getting held up and not able to break into a gallop. Last campaign he was nosed out by talented pair The Inevitable and Mr Quickie over the 1400m distance of Saturday’s race.
Value bet: GODODDIN (Race 1, No. 10 — $5.50)
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 21101
AGE OF CHIVALRY (Race 4, No. 6 — $2.50)
Resumed with a luckless run at Moonee Valley and looks well placed to bounce back.
Has drawn nicely and with world leading rider Damien Lane in the saddle looks an attractive betting prospect.
Value bet: EXHILIRATES (Race 6, No. 4 — $7.50)

KENSINGTON
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 85400
PANDEMIC (Race 3, No. 9 — $3)
Pandemic made a stunning debut at Wyong last month, unleashing a brilliant burst of acceleration to sprint clear of Heart Of The Oak and Courageous and win easily at Wyong, recording impressively closing sectionals. The form has been franked with both placegetters winning at their next starts. Pandemic has the natural ability to make the transition to Sydney Saturday class look routine.
Value bet: GOODFELLA (Race 6, No. 4 — $6.50)
MATT JONES (Daily Telegraph). Form: 041x3
SEAWAY (Race 7, No. 4 — $3.70)
His consistency is too hard to ignore, having run top two in 10 of 15 starts including a Listed win last time we saw him at the races. The firmer ground helps too.
Value bet: LABURNUM (Race 9, No. 8 — $10)
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 15731
PANDEMIC (Race 3 No. 9 — $3)
The Godolphin gelding gelding had trialled very well indeed 15 days before he won his debut at Wyong in quite a deep 1000m maiden beating Heart Of The Oak who won at Newcastle last weekend. Pandemic beat it easily and was very, very impressive through the line. Drawn 2 and Tommy Berry sticks. No reason at all why he can’t keep progressing beyond this even.
Value bet: CONSTELLATIONS (Race 2, No. 10 — $8.50)
DARREN PRENDERGAST (NewsRacing). Form: 86426
PANDEMIC (Race 3, No. 9 — $3)
Son of Sepoy scored an impressive debut win at Wyong. Looks promising.
Value bet: REBEL MISS (Race 4, No. 4 — $14)

EAGLE FARM
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 2x234
SIX SIGMA (Race 5, No. 4 — $4.80)
Surprise first up winner when stablemate Macewen was more fancied. Kept fighting to the line there, in an indication he’s returned better this time around. Up to 1400m is the logical next step and with Baylee Nothdurft’s 2kg claim, he comes in just fine at the weights. Think he has an advantage over the other one in the market Red Chase, who is back from 1800m and drawn awkwardly.
Value bet: OUR GIRL SILKE (Race 9, No. 4 — $8.50)
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
MORPHETTVILLE
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 12141
SCHILLDORA (Race 5, No. 2 — $2.10)
Very good mare who is first-up from a spell but has jumped out very nicely for her return to racing. Close up twice at Group 3 level last campaign in Melbourne and her best form would be good enough to make her presence felt in the Spring Stakes. Should be winning.
Value: TEQUILA TIME (Race 3, No. 4 — $7)
