BEAT THE BOOKIE: VALUE BETS

STABLE WATCH: ROYAL RANDWICK

ANALYSIS: DOOMBEN 10,000

THE EARLY OIL: SANDOWN LAKESIDE

DOOMBEN

NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 09252

MACKINTOSH

Race 8, No. 4

Dominant win over similar opposition last time and looked like he had a lot more to give. Admittedly was able to coast through some soft sections there, but nothing to suggest he can’t cope with more pressure. The SA Derby winner Howard Be Thy Name is the new blood, but comfortable thinking he has the most upside.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.20

BEN DORRIES (The Courier-Mail). Form: x4123

AMICUS

Race 3, No. 1

Has been there, done that, being a Group 1-winning mare. Has more experience and street smarts than the favourite Ghisoni and much better odds. Recent trials have been good

TAB Fixed Odds: $4.60

BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 3x331

SOUCHEZ

Race 5, No. 2

Put the writing on the wall with a fast finishing third in the Champagne Classic and he looks ready for the 1350m now. Drawn well and should sit in the first few and prove hard to beat. Throw Attention and Candika in your multiples and it looks a race in three for mine.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 31721

SOUCHEZ

Race 5, No. 2

Took a while to wind up last start before producing a powerful last 100m and should be better suited over 1350m.

TAB fixed odds: $3

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 11112

REAL LOVE

Race 4, No. 4

Good win last start in the JRA Cup and will be suited by the extra 200 metres.

Stick with the B.Rawiller/Weir team and $3 looks attractive.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.10

SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 33151

REAL LOVE

Race 4, No. 4

Extra distance a bonus here and should continue winning ways.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.10

ROYAL RANDWICK

SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 05360

DIVINE SANCTION

Race 4, No. 6

Still very confident that Divine Sanction will win the Queensland Derby and have thought that (or the Australian Derby) since I first saw him at the trials back in November. This guy is ‘all stayer’, if anything he might want 2400m on Saturday but we’ll have to make do with hopefully a fast run 2000m on the big track.

TAB Fixed Odds: $6

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 0947x

IN’Z’NOUT

Race 5, No. 3

Just failed in the Listed Ortensia Stakes over the Scone carnival but comes back to a track where he has excelled in the past and the form around that Scone winner is very strong. Betting strategy 10 units for a win.

TAB Fixed Odds: $2.70

MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS

SANDOWN LAKESIDE

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 8x073

MR INDIVIDUAL

Race 6, No. 1

Mr Individual is the best horse, just a matter of him finding his form and handling the soft. Forget down track effort first-up in SA when luckless.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50

DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun). Form: 31233

ANGEOLOGY

Race 4, No. 6

Has Patrick Payne polish, tuned up with a second at Ballarat and gets a significant weight swing on Hucknall.

TAB Fixed Odds: $3.20

DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 9x102

LAHQA

Race 7, No. 1

Good run last start in Adelaide Guineas and is one from one on soft.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7

MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS

MORPHETTVILLE

BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 22260

DAYTONA GREY

Race 7, No. 2

Honest sprinter who has been racing in peak form this campaign. He was scratched from last week’s Goodwood but ran a cracking race when 2nd to the flying Super One in Group 3 grade three weeks back. Absolutely loves soft tracks and looks well placed to challenge the highly rated favourite Voodoo Lad.

TAB Fixed Odds: $7
