STABLE WATCH: ROYAL RANDWICK

HOT TIPS: WEEKEND BEST BETS

ANALYSIS: DOOMBEN 10,000

THE EARLY OIL: SANDOWN LAKESIDE

DOOMBEN

NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Frm: 01167

CANDIKA

Race 5, No.12

Draws a barrier for the first time this campaign and can be a bit closer this time. Not helped by the walking speed up front in the Champagne and her finishing sprint was as good as anything in the race. The $12 looks a good each way gamble for a filly who will relish the extra trip.

TAB Fixed Odds: $12

BEN DORRIES (The Courier-Mail). Form: 0x055

AVAKOROUN

Race 6, No.

Trialled exceptionally well at Eagle Farm recently. Hasn’t won for almost 690 days but is building to something and can knock off this field and win at good odds

TAB Fixed Odds: $15

BRAD DAVIDSON (Gold Coast Bulletin). Form: 6x290

SALUTER

Race 1, No. 1

Happy to take on the favourite Fine Mist here and four weeks between runs and stepping up to the 1200m is a query for mine. I liked the way Saluter won with the big weight first-up at the Sunshine Coast and if he can find the lead here then he will take some running down. The $8 is over the odds in an open race.

TAB Fixed Odds: $8.50

SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 03670

OINK

Race 5, No. 4

Is there a better name going around? Scratched last week on the back on a poor gate. Hasn’t fared much better this week but should be very fit and cannot be dismissed.

TAB Fixed Odds: $19

ROYAL RANDWICK

SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 87829

HITTITE

Race 1, No. 11

The Chris Waller-trained 2YO had been hitting the line pretty well in her trials and that’s exactly what she did on raceday with a closing debut fourth over the 1250m at Canterbury on May 11. She will relish the step to 1400m not to mention the wide open spaces of Randwick

TAB Fixed Odds: $11

JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 0400x

PURSUIT OF HONOUR

RACE 4, No. 11

Closed in swiftly over this track and distance last time and comes in a kilogram lighter for the effort. Tough nut to crack. Betting strategy 3 units for a win, seven units for a place.

TAB Fixed Odds: $8

MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS

SANDOWN LAKESIDE

MATT STEWART (Herald Sun). Form: 0x141

INDARRA

Race 7, No. 3

Indarra is untried on wet but is a genuine stayer who will be strong late in testing conditions.

TAB Fixed Odds: $12

DANNY RUSSELL (Herald Sun) Form: 11342

RAPOSO

Race 5, No. 2

Drawn well, loves the wet and absolutely flew in a recent trial.

TAB Fixed Odds: $11

DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun). Form: 7x174

MR INDIVIDUAL

Race 6, No. 1

Best suited to his class and has been freshened.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50

CHRIS VERNUCCIO (SuperRacing). Form: 27602

RIDGEWAY

Race 2, No. 8

First starter for Robbie Laing. Has won two trials, both on heavy tracks, leading up to this so could get conditions to suit on Saturday.

TAB fixed odds: $4.80

NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 81093

JAPHILS

Race 9, No. 12

Disappointing this campaign but steps up to 1400 metres where she has a win and placing in three previous attempts and might be allowed to roll along and be hard to run down.

TAB Fixed Odds: $5.50

MORPHETTVILLE PARKS

BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 30120

EMMOOKI’S DASH

Race 3, No 4

Experienced campaigner who ran a really good race when second to the promising Award Of Merit at Morphettville a fortnight ago. Though he’s yet to win on the Parks circuit, he’s run plenty of competitive races and is also proven on rain-affected going. Should be in the finish at good each-way odds.

TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50
