Last week ... Daryl Timms delivered the goods with Vostok ($4.60) getting the cash at Moonee Valley, while each-way punters got a return with a string of second placings by Ray Thomas (Bacarella, $14), Michael Manley (Sadaqa, $12) Nathan Exelby (Mr Jetset, $10), Nick Quinn (Rocketeer, $5.50) and Brad Davidson (Sacred Master, $4.40).

BRAD DAVIDSON & SHAYNE O’CASS PREVIEW GOLDEN ROSE DAY
ROSEHILL
RAY THOMAS (Daily Telegraph). Form: x0232
OCEAN GRAND
Race 4, No. 1
Hasn’t been beaten far in three runs this preparation but he is clearly not as effective on rain-affected going. His three career wins have been on good tracks — including his effort to beat the high-class Clearly Innocent — and he strikes a more suitable surface here. He looks good value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8.50
BRAD DAVIDSON (Daily Telegraph). Form: 40x02
SONG AND LAUGHTER and SAVOUREUX
Race 5, No. 6 and Race 8, No. 4
I’ve tipped Sir John Hawkwood on top in the Kingston Town Stakes but the $21 about Song And Laughter is silly. Her run two back was super and then put a pen through her run at Wyong last start when they absolutely walked. Savoureux is also over the odds in Race 8 and she was good first-up and has good stats at this distance. Back them both each-way.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21 and $11
STEPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph). Form: 05822
SAVOUREUX
Race 8, No. 4
Kris Lees has a very consistent mare here, and she resumed with a strong finish for the minor placing over 1200m at this track in the Group 3 Birthday Card on March 19. Will strip much fitter now and the distance is her pet trip. They are betting double-figures and that looks pretty good value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $11
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph). Form: 73704
MANDALONG KISS
Race 5, No. 8
Struck form with authority last time when allowed to dawdle early before finding the line keenly. Mares in form at this time of the season can generally be followed with plenty of confidence, no matter the distance range.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman). Form: 64207
MACKINTOSH
Race 7, No. 7
I always back good horses first-up after a Derby/Oaks/G1 Cup no matter where they ran in the distance race before the spell but especially when they trial as well as Mackintosh has been ahead of this. He could be a horse to follow this spring as a fully mature 4YO.
TAB Fixed Odds: $13
DARREN PRENDERGAST (SuperRacing). Form: 37640
TYCOON TARA
Race 7, No. 4
This mare has found a new lease of life since joing Team Snowden. Her two wins this time in have been impressive and there’s no reason she can’t win again here.
TAB Fixed Odds: $8

FLEMINGTON
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun) Form: 22152
FAATINAH
Race 6, No. 10
Great run in the Goodwood last start. Freshened since and looked good in recent jump-out. Looks nice value.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9
DARYL TIMMS (Herald Sun) Form: 07391
RIZIZ
Race 4, No. 4
Not beaten far in the Balaklava Cup. Dual winner here, 1400m suits.
TAB Fixed Odds: $4.40
SIMON MOY (SuperRacing). Form: 10347
HOWARD BE THY NAME
Race 9, No. 5
Emerging stayer from Weir Town. Looks to have the necessary ability to cause a minor upset here while fresh.
TAB Fixed Odds: $26
NICK QUINN (TAB). Form: 76372
MISS SOFTHANDS
Race 8, No. 13
Classy mare who has been racing better than her results indicate.
TAB Fixed Odds: $21
MARKETS: TAB FIXED ODDS
DOOMBEN
NATHAN EXELBY (The Courier-Mail). Form: 01562
BIG TREE
Race 5, No. 4
Double figures being offered in places, which seems very generous given his very consistent overall record. Was hampered by big weights and wide barriers last time in. 57kg is generous by his standards and he’s dealt with far worse barriers previously. Usually performs well fresh.
TAB Fixed Odds: $9.50

MORPHETTVILLE
BEN SCADDEN (The Advertiser). Form: 21787
MURTI
Race 6, No. 5
Never in it last time when did a stack of work in a strong form race. Looks much better suited her back to favoured trip from inside barrier and should be in the firing line throughout. Excellent each-way shot in an even race.
TAB Fixed Odds: $7
LINCOLN MOORE (The Advertiser). Form: 44016
METRO COWBOY
Race 6, No. 4
Abover average four-year-old fitter for one run back from spell when he tried hard behind Municipality at Balaklava on Cup Day.
Has been placed second-up before and should gibve this a big shake at nice odds.
TAB Fixed Odds: $15
