Semi Radradra claims Eels still owe him $125,000 in third-party payments

SEMI Radradra claims he is still owed $125,000 in third-party payments even though Parramatta are adamant the star winger is not owed a cent.

SEMI Radradra claims he is still owed $125,000 in third-party payments over and above his $250,000 salary even though Parramatta are adamant the star winger is not owed a cent.

Radradra said he was promised the money and that was part of the reason for his walkout on the club two weeks ago.

An angry Radradra returned to Sydney on Thursday night but he is no longer permitted to live in his Telopea townhouse, and has instead been forced to reside in the club’s apartments, which are nicknamed The Bronx. But the club has now agreed to upgrade his accommodation and he is likely to move again next week.

Radradra’s relationship with the Eels doesn’t appear to be getting any better.

An AVO taken out by the woman living in the townhouse, Perina Ting, is the reason Radradra is forced to live elsewhere.

Radradra reconsidered his future after telling teammates and friends he was moving to France to play rugby on a $35,000-a-week deal. The NRL threatened him with Supreme Court action if he went ahead with the rugby move, forcing him back to Parra, where he is understood to be desperately unhappy.

The Eels initially indicated Radradra had gone home and would return with his dad, Samisoni Waqavatu, who had been ill. It turns out Samisoni had been battling nothing more than a bout of asthma.

CLUBS LINE UP FOR LUKE

MANLY and St George Illawarra have joined the lengthening queue to sign former representative star Luke Lewis.

Sport Confidential understands Lewis now has four suitors — Cronulla, Manly, St George Illawarra and Newcastle.

The Sharks have tabled a one-year offer but it is less than what Lewis was seeking. Lewis wants to remain living in The Shire and therefore hopes Cronulla will increase their offer in coming weeks.

If not, it would appear that Lewis will either head north to Manly or south to the Dragons.

Newcastle, at this point, aren’t a genuine option.

Lewis, who has been in stellar form this season with the table-topping Sharks, is seeking a one-year deal. Meanwhile, Cronulla are close to re-signing back-rower Jason Bukuya to a new two-year deal.

MOTO MAESTRO A COWBOY AT HEART

AUSSIE Jack Miller’s spectacular maiden MotoGP win last Sunday has to be one of the most refreshing moments in sport this year.

Even more refreshing, according to his mother, Sonya, is the fact the 21-year-old crowd favourite who took to riding motorbikes on his third birthday has another big dream in mind — and it involves a fellow Townsville star.

“He loves his North Queensland Cowboys,” his mum said.

“When he’s home, he goes with his mates and they sit on the grass in the outer. His hero is Johnathan Thurston and his dream is to meet him and train with the boys. That would be better than a podium for Jack.”

Sonya was not expecting her boy to cross the line first at this week’s Dutch MotoGP in Assen.

“He was the underdog. We were at home in Townsville watching on the TV,” she said.

“Jack’s sister and brother were with me but his dad was in Vietnam on business. He called me in transit and I was screaming ‘five laps to go’. He stayed on the line but I dropped the phone.

“Like a lot of sporting families, we’ve made sacrifices, but we wouldn’t change a thing.

“We’ve all worked hard and he knows that more than anyone. He’s a good boy.”

GETTING THE SALLY SLIP

FOLLOWING news of Olympic gold medallist Sally Pearson’s hamstring injury that has forced her out of Rio, you’d think her manager Robert Joske would have been more gracious when Channels 7 and 9 went into meltdown to cover the story.

Pearson is contracted to Nine but Seven is the rights holder for Rio and a young, enthusiastic reporter from Seven at the Gold Coast was naturally keen to hear how Australia’s big hope for a track and field medal was faring. The response?

A brash “no comment” from Joske, who really should know better after all of these years managing big-name sports stars.

Given that Pearson will be hoping to still go to Rio — where a good relationship with the host broadcaster is not a bad idea, even though she hopes to work with Nine — her manager might think about being a little more polite next time.

OLD EAGLES STILL SOARS

WE told you last week that former Souths and Eels star Chris Sandow was among the favourites for England’s Man of Steel, the equivalent to the NRL’s Dally M Medal. Another player right in the mix is Glenn Stewart, the former back-rower for Manly who is now with French club Catalans. Stewart’s form this season has been sublime.

DE GOIS TO STAY AT PARRA

PARRAMATTA hooker Isaac De Gois has all but signed a new two-year deal to remain at the club.

Even before Nathan Peats was forced out of the club, De Gois had plenty of appeal with officials because of his work rate and cheaper price tag.

Meanwhile, Cody Nelson, the back-up hooker who will also feature against Cronulla this weekend, was part of the winning team at the Eels’ golf day on Tuesday.

Nelson’s team of four went around the lovely but tricky Riverside Oaks with a score of 16-under. Yes, 16-under.

GREAT GESTURE OF THANKS

MANLY have broken the hearts of their fans this year, but the club itself still has a soft heart. The Sea Eagles have offered tickets to Monday night’s match against St George Illawarra at Brookvale for the volunteers in the SES and Rural Fire Service. The gesture comes after the amazing work done by the services during recent floods throughout Sydney’s northern beaches.
