There’s been plenty of movement in the off-season in the Australian Water Polo League (AWL), with many teams sporting new faces or new looks for 2023 that will lift the standard of competition to new levels.

KommunityTV will live stream matches across the season, with some sensational matches already played and more to come in both Melbourne and Sydney this week.

See the schedule below for details of a massive first month of streaming.

Defending champions Queensland Thunder and UNSW Wests Magpies are back and determined to continue their domination.

The AWL is Australia’s top domestic water polo competition and, as usual, will provide top-notch competition for national squad members, players working towards the Paris Olympics and the rising stars of the sport.

While some teams have opted for a youthful look or to stick with familiar faces, others have been busy securing talent for the season.

Drummoyne, Cronulla, Sydney Uni and UNSW will all be on show during the first week.

The Tigers have also enticed talent to their waters.

Recent Australian Sharks debutant and rising star of goalkeeping, Joey Parnis, has made the move to Sydney. The former South Australian shot blocker made his debut in the recent series against Japan in Perth.

“It was quite special making my debut in front of a home crowd, it’s a pretty rare thing to be able to do,’’ he said after the match.

“It’s been a long road to get here from South Australia but I was always hoping that this would be where I end up.’’
