The best young ballers in the nation are heading west this winter.

Basketball Australia is set to take over the Warwick Basketball Centre in Western Australia for the Under-16 National Championships from July 1-9.

KommunityTV will be your golden ticket to watch all 108 matches from the Under-16 National Championships.

HOW TO WATCH IT LIVE

We’re keeping it simple for the Under-16 Nationals, because we don’t want you to miss a minute of the high octane action.

Games get underway at 9am local time most days of the championships, and run through to about 8pm. For those in the Eastern states this means an 11am start and 10pm finish, so prime time.

KommunityTV will separate our coverage by each court, each day. Like channels on your TV, you can tune into whatever court you want, when you want to.

Use the live stream schedule below to see when your team is playing and on what court, to make sure you are there for tip off. Please note the schedule is in local Perth time.

Each day we will have a list of links for each court which will be updated in this HUB story. The links for each court will also be added to the schedule as an alternative.

To make things even easier for you, we have broken down the schedule by each team which can be found at the bottom of this HUB story.

Only News Corp Australia metro and regional digital subscribers can watch the action from the U16 National Championships. Use your daily live stream link to sign up to watch it LIVE.

WHAT’S ON THE LINE

The coverage of the U16 Nationals is part of our exclusive live stream coverage of the Basketball Australia National Championships pathways events which has already included the Under-20s and Under-18s Championships earlier this year.

The exclusive coverage of the championships will include every match from the event as states battle it out for the Norma Connolly Trophy (girls) and Robert Young Shield (boys).

The two trophies from the event are named after two pioneers of basketball and coaching in Australia and two Basketball Australia Hall of Famers.

WHO’S COMING OUT ON TOP?

Victoria Metro will return to Warwick with one thing on their mind, winning gold.

The Vic Metro boys will be aiming for a third-straight gold medal after Harrison Beauchamp helped them overcome Queensland South in last year’s decider.

The Victoria Metro girls side will be aiming to find their way back into the gold, after their run of four-straight gold medals was brought to a shock end by NSW Metro last year.

The Victorian girls have been a standout at the championships since the turn of the century, only missing out on hoisting the Norma Connolly Trophy three times since 2000.

The other thing the Victorians have on their side is results, after the ultra-impressive Nunawading Spectres took out the boys and girls gold medals at last year’s Under-14 Club Championships - with most of that age group feeding into this year’s Under-16s titles.

But is there a team that could knock Victoria off its perch?

NSW Metro have built an impressive production line of talent over recent years, while the kids from the bush are always ready to put on a show as the underdogs.

Then there is the kids from the Sunshine State - both Queensland North and Queensland South have plenty to say after their clubs, Mackay and Southern Districts, made it into medal contention at last year’s Under-14 Club Championships.

Then there is the home state - Western Australia.

The boys and girls in yellow have plenty to say on the basketball court and are tired of being considered a team just making up the numbers.

The Western Australia boys won bronze at last year’s Under-16s Nationals and will be determined to upgrade that medal this time around.

The home state will kick off all the action at Warwick with two games featuring Western Australian sides played immediately after the opening ceremony on Saturday, July 1.

The girls will kick off the action when Western Australia Metro faces off against the ACT at 4.30pm Saturday before the Western Australia Metro boys clash with Victoria Country at 6.15pm (local time).
