Australia’s best and brightest will be on display across the week long event with each state set to be represented.

Twenty-four boys teams will battle it out for the Ken Watson Championship Trophy with the Hills Hornets looking to make it back-to-back successes after the last representative team won the event in 2019.

There will be a new girls’ Michele Timms Trophy winner with reigning champions Hawthorn Magic not participating at this year’s tournament.

“With 48 teams competing at the Under 14 Club Championships from the 25th-30th of September, we’re delighted to have Newscorp and broadcast company, Toppa on board live streaming every single game for one of our biggest events of the year,” BA Executive General Manager of Competitions, Participation and Education Paul Maley said.

Basketball will take centre stage in Sydney next week with the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup set to be held at Sydney Olympic Park from September 22 to October 1.

News Sports Network general manager partnerships Sachin Kumar said the live stream of the Basketball Australia National Under-14 Club Championships would extend News’ long-term commitment to the growth of basketball at all levels.

“We have partnered with Basketball Australia to stream this event, adding to our exciting partnership with the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 LOC to provide unbridled coverage of the upcoming FIBA Women’s World Cup this year and our comprehensive coverage of, and relationship with, the NBL “ he said.

“The chance to feature the best emerging junior talent on KommunityTV screens everywhere links that coverage of the elite level to the expanding grassroots of the sport.

“Our live stream will shine a spotlight on a number of exciting young talented athletes who could one day feature at tournaments like the FIBA Women’s World Cup or the Brisbane Olympics in 2032. It is an opportunity we could not pass up.

“Our coverage of the week-long tournament will be extensive, with every match across two venues featuring on the live streams, reinforcing KommunityTV is the home of grassroots sport in Australia.”
