Brooke Barwick, Georgia Clark and Claire Ransom have all been in outstanding form this season and will need to be at their best if the Devils are to close the gap on second-placed Geelong Falcons in the country conference to just one game.

The Falcons have the bye this weekend.

Ransom will enter the clash off the back of another outstanding game after she recorded 26 disposals and six inside 50s last time out.

Tasmania’s southern talent manager Mathew Armstrong said the young gun’s all-round game had improved throughout the season.

“She’s become a terrific leader and taken on the vice-captaincy position extremely well,” he said.

“It’s not just what she’s been doing in the game but also the way Claire has been a positive influence on her teammates.

“Everyone associated with the Devils program is pleased with how she has been performing.”

Ransom’s fellow midfielder Barwick has also been in fantastic form during her second season of NAB League footy.

After averaging 9.6 disposals across seven games last season, the 16-year-old has lifted her average to 16 disposals across six games in 2022.

Last week’s game against the Cannons was her best of the season as she finished with 20 disposals and five tackles.

“Her biggest strength is around the stoppages,” Armstrong said.

“Given there is still another year before Brooke is eligible to be drafted I think we’re still going to see a lot of improvement in her game.”

Clark, who will spend time between the forward 50 and “pinch hitting” in the ruck looms as one of the game’s biggest x-factors.

The skilful tall has kicked five goals in her last two matches.

“There’s no denying she’s in terrific form,” Armstrong said.

The Eastern Ranges have been in similarly impressive form winning five of their opening six games and only conceded one goal in last week’s 36-9 win over Gippsland Power.
