Live Stream: Lou Lou Field, 15, lighting it up for the Western Jets in NAB League

A 15-year-old Western Jet lighting up the competition and an “excitement machine” lead our NAB League Girls Team of the Week. Find out who it.

With Victorian commitments putting a number of NAB League Girls stars out of action on the weekend, there was plenty of opportunities for the younger players in the competition to stand up.

Among those was Lou-Lou Field from the Western Jets who has established herself as an AFLW star of the future in 2022.

In the absence of six Jets teammates, the 15-year-old produced her best performance of the season to finish with 20 disposals, eight tackles, seven inside 50s and six rebound 50s.

It was an effort which helped guide the Jets to a 42-point win over the Greater Western Victoria Rebels on Saturday.

Jets coach Robbie Chancellor said a different looking line-up allowed Field to spend more time up the ground.

“She started down back but then we moved her into the middle and she excelled,” he said.

“One of the most impressive parts of her game is how composed she is with the ball in her hand. Pressure doesn’t fluster her.

“Lou Lou is getting better with every game and we can’t wait to see her continuing develop in the coming years.”

Joining Field in the Herald Sun’s Team of the Week is Kristie-Lee Weston-Turner who Chancellor described as an “excitement machine”.

“She’s been promising to give us this breakout game for a while now and we’re so pleased to see it all come together,” he said.

“The highlight was definitely her monster barrel which would have definitely been one of the biggest goals in competition history.”

Tasmania also had several representatives in the Team of the Week including Georgia Clark and Shania Saward who kicked four goals apiece.

Devils teammate Bellah Parker also was selected after she finished with three majors from her nine shots on goal.

The ever present Zarlie Goldsworthy, of the Murray Bushrangers, was again selected in the team after putting together a strong performance.

Goldsworthy and her Bushrangers teammates will be in action against the Northern Territory this weekend in the Herald Sun’s live stream game.

It will be live from 10.30am on Sunday at Highgate Recreation Reserve.
