This week’s Herald Sun Shield grand finals are set to see plenty of talented players take to the field.
From upcoming AFL Draft prospects to young guns we’re going to have to wait several years to see at the top level, all teams have match winners on their sides.
Here’s a look at some of the key players for each side.
Emily Antonie, Melbourne Girls Grammar
You’ll see her in and under the packs in the decider. Hates losing one-on-one contests.
Nate Caddy, Parade College senior boys.
One of the top AFL Draft prospects in the country. If he does play, he could easily put on a show.

Jordan Croft, Maribyrnong College
Possesses great athleticism for his size. His second and third efforts lead the way for his teammates. Quick on the lead and good in the air. Knows where the goals are.
Jay De Varlet, Rowville Secondary College
A centre half-back who is strong overhead and breaks lines with the ball. Has been one of Rowville’s keys so far.
Lachy Dovaston, Rowville Secondary College
A gun midfielder who has had 30-plus disposals and kicked goals in both games. Captain of the team.
Annabelle Embelton, Caulfield Grammar
In the Vic Metro under-18 squad, Embelton is a key position player who has a bright future ahead of her.
Siena Farrell, Caulfield Grammar
Best on ground in last year’s grand final, Farrell is an athletic forward with lots of x-factor.
Tyson Gresham, Parade College intermediate boys
Was at the centre of everything impressive for Parade in the semi-final victory. Dominated the midfield and can get forward to hit the scoreboard.
Lucas Impey, Maribyrnong College
A tall ruckman who can take a strong contested mark.
Isaac Kako, Parade College senior boys
Kicked two goals in last week’s semi-final and has x-factor match winning ability.
Harriet Kogler, Melbourne Girls Grammar
Packs a punch. A powerful player who loves contact and running through the opposition. She is one to watch for the future.
Kristian Lawson, Parade College senior boys
Among the better players in his side’s victory last week and shapes as a match winning talent.
Archie Le Clerc, Rowville Secondary College
Runs and jumps at the footy as well as anyone at his age. A fantastic target.
Sophie McKay, Melbourne Girls Grammar
The daughter of Carlton great Andrew and sister of current AFLW star Abbie McKay (Carlton). McKay is an extremely gifted footballer with great touch and awareness. Loves to get forward and has a strong long kick.
Mitchell Moate, Parade College intermediate boys
Impressed in last week’s semi-final and is expected to play a key role onball.
Sebastian Murphy, Parade College intermediate boys
A serious young talent who could grab this game by the scruff of the neck.
Jayden Nguyen, Maribyrnong College
A lively midfielder, good speed, creative with ball in hand. Creates run and drive out of the midfield and backline.
Zoe Samuel, Caulfield Grammar
A gun midfielder who racks up plenty of the ball.
