There were state records galore at a thrilling Little Athletics NSW championships, along with PBs and great racing at the Sydney Olympic Park event.
And there was plenty on the line for youngsters chasing a spot on the NSW team to compete at the upcoming Australian championships in Adelaide with the standard as high as the enthusiasm of the young competitors.
Now the HART Sport State Track and Field championships are complete, a team of 40 x U13 and 40 x U14 athletes will be named for the Aussie championships.
Up to three girls and three boys in the U15 age group will also represent NSW at the event.
Here we take a look at some of the notable results at the event and some of the best action shots taken by our photographer Julian Andrews.
Almost from the get-go records were being lowered at the HART Sport State championship.
And there was no surprise that it was young Wollongong City LA member Harlow Pate in the spotlight.
Harlow, who came into the event with numerous record breaking performances, broke the U10 Girls 400m state record with a time of 1:01.42 at Homebush on the weekend.
She also set a new mark in the 200m.
Bowral’s Harry Keats continues to make a name for himself, breaking the U14 Boys 800m state record with a time of 2:00.93.
Hailing from a club not far away at Sutherland was Ryan Weigand.
Ryan set a new mark in the U9 Boys 60m hurdles with his 9.43.
Lian Anagnostopoulos from Balmain Athletics Club was also in fine form, breaking the U17 Boys Triple Jump state record with his 15.42 leap.
Prospect runner Ben Sparado also had a big weekend, breaking the U11 Boys 80m Hurdles state record with a time of 12.3.
In the U13s, Phillip Botonis from Bankstown Sports Athletics Club also put in a head-turning performance when he broke the U13 Boys 3000m record with his sizzling 9:29.26.
In the U11s Nate Appleyard from Winston Hills Athletics Centre set a new time in the Boys 1100m with his 4:59.00.
Rising star Izobelle Louison-Roe had a standout competition.
The Port Hacking centre athletes broke the U17 Girls records for Triple Jump, Long Jump and High Jump. She also won the 100m Hurdles at the Olympic Park meet..
Manly Warringah’s Eliza Lawton, who also raced at the recent NSW championships, broke the U14 Girls 3000m state record with a time of 9:34.8.
She wasn't the only one.
Sophie Polkinghorne from North Rocks Carlingford and Annabelle Vella from the Rouse Hill Rams, also broke the previous state record.
Isaac Beacroft from Quakers Hill Little Athletics Centre has been on the rising star list for some time and it’s little wonder.
He broke the U17 3000m state record with a time of 8:42.2.
He was in good company.
Jessie Low from the Sutherland club and Harrison McClusky from Gosford Little Athletics also broke the previous best mark.
On Sunday Beacroft added the U17 1500m state record to his list of recent feats with a winning time of 5:18.66s.
Another record went to Tallara Joseph-Riogi from Canterbury Athletics Club.
She broke the U15 Girls Javelin state record with a throw of 48.91 in a mighty performance at Homebush on the weekend.
Ronia Warszawska from Sutherland also turned plenty of heads.
She broke the U13 Girls 800m record and equalled the Australian Best Performance (a national record) in a stunning performance.
